When delivering feedback avoid the too-common practice of mixing good news with bad news. This can often send confused message, i.e. good news, followed by bad news, ending with good news.
When giving someone feedback if it’s about poor performance be considerate and balanced but be very clear and direct. Wrapping it up in flowery, ‘diplomatic’ language does nobody a favour, the message gets muddled and confusing; it is like eating a sandwich with good bread but with a bad filling.
