Reporting into the Head of Manufacturing, the key focus of this role will be to prepare the manufacturing function in general, for the challenges of new logistics systems related to the supply chain, and to maximise operational performance on a daily basis through strong leadership of a stable and cohesive team. This opportunity will suit an experienced Production/Manufacturing Manager who has a clear and demonstrable understanding of manufacturing principles and who appreciates ‘what good looks like’. 

As Manufacturing Manager your main responsibilities will include…

  • To develop an efficient means of managing the manufacturing operation within a broad remit with direct functional control of the Team Leaders
  • The development of styles and skills sets compatible with the company’s set of strong values and the customer excellence programme, together with improvements in the self-esteem of the unit to the levels enjoyed elsewhere in the company
  • The creation of structured continuous improvement and ‘lean’ methodologies, working closely with the Head of Manufacturing
  • Efficient management of the unit cost base
  • To organise and implement appropriate shift patterns to meet output targets
  • The recruitment and performance management of shop floor employees
  • Undertaking root cause analysis when required

The successful Manufacturing Manager candidate is…

  • skilled in the technical challenges of managing a dynamic, multi shift operation where RFT and delivery targets are at industry leading levels
  • someone with a comprehensive appreciation of the demands of modern logistic systems in manufacturing and understand their demands, and be sufficiently competent to drive user development of ERP type innovation
  • an accomplished communicator at all levels and to act in accord with other functions that play a key role in the supply chain
  • capable of high levels of empathy and influencing enabling him or her to deliver best in class engagement levels
  • an ambitious, energetic and creative free thinker with a flexible, positive and adaptable attitude
  • a change agent when needed and to ensure key business targets are achieved
  • someone from an FMCG or related background
  • a supportive team player who leads by example and who not only shares the values and ethos of the company, but will enhance and uphold them on an ongoing basis
  • sufficiently adaptable and capable of moving elsewhere in the company as needed
